The Joys of Recitalhood

After months apart from my dear friend, wordpress, I’ve decided our break is over and it’s time to return to the blogosphere. (Actually, I just forgot I had it until I felt the need to share my thoughts on graduating with my small corner of the world. More to come on that.) I remember long ago promising to post any videos of my own musical endeavors on this site of mine, and I’m finally ready to honor that promise. These, my dear friends (and my dear strangers), are the links to various videos from my (two!) senior recitals, for any who haven’t already had to sit through an hour of me playing the French horn or singing opera and art songs. I sincerely hope you enjoy them!

Horn Trio, Johannes Brahms feat. Mo Bailey (ME) on horn, Jackson Bailey (my sweet brother) on violin, and Amanda Hopson on piano.

All below: Me singing and Nico Reynolds on the keys.

Non disperar from Giulio Cesare by Händel.

Three songs by Richard Strauss: Allerseelen, Die Nacht, and Für Funfzehn Pfennige.

I Shall Not Care, a stunning composition by my dear friend, Stephen Shannon.

Two songs by Claude Debussy (Paysage Sentimental and Clair de lune from Fêtes Galantes) and two songs by Gabriel Fauré (Clair de lune and Fleur Jetée)

Je suis encor from Manon by Jules Massenet.

Eve-Song by Jake Heggie (I. My Name, II. Even, III. Good, IV. Listen, V. Snake)

Mein Herr Marquis from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II.

If you somehow made it through all of these, CONGRATULATIONS! You are a trooper. Thanks for listening/reading/visiting my site – I appreciate you!
